TOM LAFFERTY

Tom Lafferty primarily focuses on asset acquisition for the company. Tom’s day-to-day activities involve researching markets throughout the United States to identify areas with investment opportunity, assessment of multifamily properties for sale, underwriting prospective deals, building and maintaining broker relationships, and development of debt strategies.  He is also involved in asset management and operations.  As a licensed agent in Texas and through his cultivation of strong relationships with brokers and lender representatives, Tom continuously maintains a unique and comprehensive insight into the ever-changing multifamily industry, which allows him to adapt investment and acquisition strategies to the market. 

Tom also takes part in investor relations for the company and raises capital for projects. 
After graduating from the University of Texas, Tom served as a firefighter and paramedic for the Carrollton Fire Department for 23 years, retiring as a Captain in 2019.  Tom began investigating multifamily investing in 2011 and purchased his first apartment complex in 2013 after joining Brad Sumrok’s mentoring and education program.  Tom quickly expanded his knowledge and skills and became a coach, assisting others in the group to analyze, acquire, successfully operate, and sell hundreds of properties.  During this period, Tom also obtained his real estate license and has been involved as a buyer’s agent in over $2 billion in transactions involving members of the Sumrok group. Tom has personally had an ownership interest in over 7500 units across 30 multifamily properties as either a deal sponsor or limited partner.
